Multi Function Display

The Spirit has 8 MFDs and 1 Engine Display. Each can show HUD, NAV, or any system sub-page — GPS, ECS, FUEL, FCH, ENG, and STATS with special sensors.

Display Controls

ON/OFF and DAY/NITE
  • Rotary switch on the top-left of each MFD bezel
  • Turns the individual screen ON/OFF
  • Switches between DAY and NITE modes
On first power-up: "SELF TEST IN PROGRESS — PLEASE WAIT" before the display is usable.

Contrast and Brightness
  • CON rocker (bottom-right bezel) → contrast, shown as percentage
  • BRT rocker (bottom-right bezel) → brightness, shown as percentage
MFD CONTRAST 65% MFD BRIGHTNESS 45%

How to enter HUD or NAV mode
  • Press the MENU select key on any MFD bezel
  • Menu page shows HUD (left) and NAV (right)
  • Press the corresponding line-select key

HUD Mode — primary flight reference

  • Flight Path Vector, Attitude, Heading
  • AOA indicator — gear must be extended to be visible
  • Mach, Ground Speed, Indicated Airspeed, G-Meter
  • Altimeter, Trim Indicator, AP mode annunciations
  • ILS bars — selected from NAV page via ILS MFD key

ECS
ECS — Engine Bleed System
  • Engine bleed status for all 4 engines
  • Cabin pressurization differential (PSI)
  • CAS 1 / CAS 2 status and CAS BIT link
"NO CABIN PRESSURIZATION" = check bleed/pack status.
FCH
FCH — Flight Controls Health
  • FLT CNTRL and AIR DATA matrices across 4 channels
  • L RUD / R RUD, NWS, OBRD positions at bottom
  • "No X's on FCH" is a required Taxi checklist item
ENG
ENG — Engine Data
  • Per-engine columns 1–4: T1, N1, N2, TBT, FF, PLA, OT, OP, OL, V/B, IGV, CDP
  • EMSP1–4 health status at the bottom
FUEL
FUEL Sub-page
  • Per-tank qty: Wing L/R, Inner L/R, Outboard Fwd/Aft L/R tanks
  • TOTAL FUEL readout in both % and lbs
  • TOT shown in thousands (e.g. TOT 51.1K)
MAP
MAP — GPS Map Mode
  • Reserved on the left-most MFD
  • Shows active flight plan route and waypoints
  • TRFFC soft key for traffic display
STATS Page and Special Sensors
STATS
STATS — Crew Alert and Advisory System
  • Red text = Warning (e.g. LOW PNEUMATIC PRESS)
  • Amber text = Caution (e.g. HYD YELLOW PRESS LOW)
  • Green/white text = Advisory (e.g. APU 1 RUNNING, PARKING BRAKE SET)
  • "CHECK NO WARNINGS" on STATS is a required Cruise checklist item
VSD
VSD — Look Down Camera
  • Downward camera feed with distance-to-ground and lat/lon
  • Not available on the ground
RDR
RDR — Simulated Radar
  • Range rings centered on own-ship
  • Range selectable via bottom-right soft key (e.g. RNG60)
TFR
TFR — Forward Synthetic Vision
  • Synthetic forward terrain/runway view
  • Useful for low-visibility and stealth-profile operations
